This week, we talk about the #onionfieldmurders . On the night of March 9, 1963, #LAPD officers #IanCampbell (age 31) and #KarlHettinger (age 28) were riding in an #unmarkedpolicecar. They pulled over a #1946Fordcoupe containing two #suspicious -looking men at the corner of #CarlosAvenue and #GowerStreet in #Hollywood .

The two men, #GregoryUlasPowell (age 30) and #JimmyLeeSmith (a.k.a. " #JimmyYoungblood ", age 32), had recently committed a string of robberies, and "each had a pistol tucked into his trousers".

The film stars #JohnSavage , #JamesWoods and #FranklynSeales , as well as #TedDanson in his film debut.
